A Little About Me

I have been sewing and selling my creations for about seventeen years now since I became a young mom. I design and sew all the hand made goods available on this website.

I started off selling at some local shops and festivals in my hometown. In 1999 Sewfunky clothing became available online and a few years after that this website was created. I just fell in love with creating things plus I have a huge passion for textiles! I use natural and high quality fibers so my work will be built to last. I have always had a love for sewing since I was very young, and I am crazy about fabric. My inspirations are my beautiful children, the earth, music, nursing babies, pregnant bellies, dragonflies!

So here I am now with a great husband and four little ones at home and not only is this a passion for me but it is the only way I can stay home with my babies and still earn a living! Plus we get to go to great festivals, shows and markets and support other independent artists!

I also feel very strongly about natural parenting, so if you ever need advice on breastfeeding, babywearing, cloth diapering, homebirth and homeschooling, send me an email and I can tell you about my experiences with my four kids!

I want to give a big thank you to my friend Holly who designed the original layout and design work for the sewfunky site, it was so beautiful! All of my items are unique, comfy and made of quality fabrics and have great attention to detail and durability! I use an industrial sewing machine and a five thread serger to finish the seams for all my clothing and baby slings.
